The world No. 2 Rafael Nadal seemed extremely happy with ITF and Kosmos’ decision to hold the Davis Cup Finals in Madrid, Spain. He was elated that he will get to play for such an important game on his home turf amongst the fans from his country. However, the Serbian player isn’t that happy with the format. He believes that though the format change was necessary for the competition, he wanted to play in his home field too. Which is why he has mixed feelings about this decision of ITF.

The Davis Cup is set to happen after the ATP finals of 2019 and might prove rigorous for the players. The top players will have to catch a flight from London to Madrid right after the finals, barely leaving them with any time to rest. Roger Federer won’t be playing for this season of Davis Cup. However, this edition will see the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov, Andy Murray, and more battling it out to take the trophy home.
