World number six Stefanos Tsitispas led his country to a berth in the Davis Cup World Group II on Saturday.
The Greek tennis star defeated Jeson Patrombon of the Philippines 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday, March 7, at the Philippine Columbian Association. The win means that Greece secured a 3-1 lead in the best of five matches.
“It’s better being [in Group II]. We can’t wait for our next opponents to be announced, so we’ll be well-prepared for our next tie,” Tsitsipas said.
