Both ATP and WTA stars will be participating in the dual-event Kremlin Cup this week with a number of top players still vying for the remaining berths of the year-end championships.
Shanghai Masters champion Nikolay Davydenko leads the field of ATP stars in this tournament. He’ll be facing two-time Grand Slam champion Marat Safin in the first round.
The women’s field will be headed by Russian Vera Zvonareva, who’s still in the running for the final berth of the Sony Ericsson Championships. Her toughest opponent will be Jelena Jankovic of Serbia, who’s seeded second in the tournament, and is also a strong contender for the year-end championships.
