It only took 12 minutes for Belgian Kim Clijsters to win her semifinal match at the 2010 Cincinnati Open after her opponent, former world number one Ana Ivanovic pulled out due to left foot injury in tears.
Her next opponent is another former world number one – Russian Maria Sharapova who had to work hard to beat compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in three sets.
Last year, Clijsters reached the quarterfinals of this prestigious tournament then went on to win the US Open later that month. Now that she’s in the title match of this event, there are speculations that she may be once more a title contender in the last Grand Slam of the Year.
