The Palais Omnisports in Bercy becomes the final battleground for the regular ATP 2010 season. The BNP Paribas Masters is the ninth ATP 1000 event of the season and with three more slots remaining for the ATP World Tour Finals in London, this event could very well determine the players who’ll make to the elite eight-man tournament.
Defending champion Novak Djokovic is back as the second seed of the Paris Masters 2010 following world number one Rafael Nadal’s withdrawal in the event due to injury. This means that world number two Roger Federer becomes Paris Masters 2010 tournament top seed and has a chance to gain more ranking points since he has nothing to defend in the tournament. Federer surprisingly lost in the first round last year.
