The 2012 AEGON International takes place from June 17 to 23, 2012, just a week before the Wimbledon Championships will begin. This dual gender tournament will host a flurry of ATP and WTA stars who’d certainly like to have that much-needed warmup before the grasscourt Slam event. The men’s event is categorized under ATP World Tour 250 while the women’s event is a Premier-level tournament.
The 2011 winner for the men’s side was Italy’s Andreas Seppi and he’s expected to be back to defend the title while France’s Marion Bartoli won the women’s title by beating Petra Kvitova. Bartoli would then went on to reach the Wimbledon 2011 quarterfinals with a notable win over returning former top-ranked Serena Williams while Kvitova went on to win the Wimbledon title after beating Maria Sharapova.
