Czech Republic secures top seeding for Davis Cup 2014 tournament

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced on Monday, September 16, that Czech Republic will be the top seeds for the 2014 Davis Cup. The Czech team is the defending champion and has secured a berth to the final after defeating Team Argentina last weekend. The Czech Republic team will meet Team Serbia for the title next month in Belgrade.

Serbia secured the number two seed, followed by Spain and Argentina.

Here are the top eight seeds for the Davis Cup 2014 tournament:

There are 16 teams competing in the World Group. The other eight slots have been determined via the recently concluded World Group Playoffs last weekend. The other eight teams are: Australia, Belgium, Germany, Britain, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and Netherlands.

The Davis Cup 2014 draw will take place in London on September 18, Wednesday.
